I am searching for the names of art galleries and/or museums in Hanover and Dusseldorf, Germany, that feature paintings by Carl Schlesinger, a German painter from the mid-1800's. He specialized in paintings depicting the Reformation in Europe. I believe several galleries in these cities carry his works. |

According to Müller - Singer, Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon, Vol. 4, 1922, p. 203 paintings by Schlesinger were (or still are) in the "Kunsthalle Hamburg" and the "Mus. Hannover". Kunsthalle Hamburg: http://www.hamburger-kunsthalle.de/ Mus. Hannover (presumably "Kestner Museum"): http://www.hannover.de/deutsch/kultur/museen/mus_mus/mus_all/kestner.htm |
