The answer is "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy" or "CBT."

"[CBT's] goals are to restructure one's thoughts, perceptions, and
beliefs. Such restructuring facilitates behavioral and emotional
change. During therapy, coping skills and abilities are assessed and
further developed.

CBT is a therapy that is very popular these days because it is
intended to be relatively short-term (as opposed to psychoanalysis and
some other "talk" therapies) and because it seems to be especially
effective (sometimes along with medication) in treating a range of
anxiety disorders.

Here is a link to an authoritative website's discussion of anxiety
disorders and the role of CBT in treating them. Scroll about 7/8 down
