Hi stressmathers,
Briefly, a bibliography is a list of works on a given subject or by a
given author. A select bibliography is a partial list of interest. For
example, an author may have written twelve books and his bibliography
would include all twelve. However, perhaps you are writing an article
about clams, and so you would include a select bibliography of the
author's work which only pertain to clams (perhaps only seven of his
twelve books). Another example: perhaps you've made a select
bibliography on the subject of Halloween but it doesn't come close to
containing all of the books on the subject.
BIBLIOGRAPHY:
1. A list of the works of a specific author or publisher.
2.
1. A list of writings relating to a given subject: a bibliography
of Latin American history.
2. A list of writings used or considered by an author in preparing
a particular work.
3.
1. The description and identification of the editions, dates of
issue, authorship, and typography of books or other written material.
2. A compilation of such information.
n : a list of writings with time and place of publication (such as the
writings of a single author or the works referred to in preparing a
document etc.)
