It might be useful to know contect here. I did some preliminary work under the assumption that you needed something defined for the US, and thus probably the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. If this is the case, then the answer is maybe. :) "Non-slip" or "slip resistant" doesn't appear to be rigidly defined. The OHSA has a definitation from their nonmandatory table that says slip resistant is defined as as having a Coefficient of Friction (static I presume) of greater than 0.5 http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=INTERPRETATIONS&p_id=24511 This appears to be for surfaces or for shoes. Other than that I can find no further reference. No, as for SAS shoes, they appear to be a small operation located in San Antonio, TX with no on-line presence. I would suspect calling them for information might be your best bet. ://www.google.com/local?q=sas+shoes&hl=en&lr=&sa=G&near=San+Antonio,+TX&radius=0&latlng=29423889,-98493331,29837998,-97988632 All of this depends on what your work requires, i.e. how do they make their list? For other researchers: Google: osha non-slip shoes OSHA: Search of just regulations for slip-resistant and shoes Google: SAS shoes ...Then to local for the factory store |
