World wide or USA or something in between? Likely some 3d world and Communist countries have some mechanisms somewhat like Western futures markets. Are there mutual funds, dirivitives, puts and calls to the future markets? If so should these be counted as contracts? I presume you do not want to include bartering contracts independent of the futures mechanism? Neil |

There is a source called "Futures Industry" I got from a CFA prep book, it lists total futures volume in the book not index futures, but I'm sure they'd have the data. You might wanna check it out |

http://www.daytradingstocks.com/resources/forex.html Good luck, my friend. I have not traded Forex, but I hear some of the spreads get very wide and liquidity can be another problem if volume dries up on you. I imagine you have trading experience and know the ropes. If you do not, you may wish to build experience by trading liquid, US stocks. People who begin their trading careers with derivatives or futures usually lose everything. Best wishes. |
