I would like to know what paper or publication is the best one in the
Los Angeles area to put a classified ad in that would have the best
chance of being read by celebrities (actors, directors, musicians,
etc.).

The ad would be looking for interested supporters of a social cause,
probably would appeal most to "liberal" types - Robin Williams,
Whoopie, Susan Sarandon, Maher, Franken, Moore

Don't want to know what celebrities only what is the best place to run
the ad. Only caveat is it leave out hyper priced trade publications
like Billboard, ...

Just want an opinion or 2. Not research (you probably guessed that by the offer)

Hello sekhamet-ga,

There are Hollywood Reporter and Variety, but they may also be what
you consider "hyper priced trade publications".

What about the LA Times? I assume that celebrities read the newspaper
occasionally.

There is also LA Weekly ( http://www.laweekly.com/ ). It's pretty
popular around the LA area. Celebrities might pick it up
occasionally.

Thank you for that. I have thought about Hollywood Reporter as well as
Dramalog. I forgot about Variety, but I think it is pretty expensive
to advertise in it.

I'll check with the Times and LA Weekly. Just wanted to check that I
wasn't missing some other paper that I hadn't heard of.

Thanks for your time, googlenut
