Hello flutterby~

My recommendation is the ?Bark Buster.? The manufacturer claims it
works on 90% of dogs, and customer feedback on consumer websites is
glowing. This device contains a microprocessor that knows when your
dog barks; it then uses a painless noise to teach your dog to stop
barking. It works by annoying the dog; soon, the dog discovers that if
he or she stops barking, the sound won?t reoccur. The collar is
appropriate for dogs as small as 5 lbs. You can read about the basic
Bark Buster collar here: http://www.hitecpet.com/barconcol.html

You can also read about other, similar style collars, here:
http://www.hitecpet.com/nobarkcollars.html

All of these products come with a 60 day money back guarantee.

Variations on the basic collar include the ?Hush Puppy,? which has a
?tuner? which helps reduce false ?alarms,? and allows you to control
just how loud a noise the collar produces. There?s also the Bark
Terminator, guaranteed to stop barking within three days, or your
money back. (Please note that the Terminator 2, also found on the
above mentioned page, uses a shock, as well as noise deterrent, and
therefore would not be appropriate.)

If you don't like these, you might look into citronella collars. These
work by spraying your dog each time it barks with a harmless spray of
citronella. This is a scent that most dogs find curious?-therefore,
they get distracted from barking. The downside to these collars is
that they also spray (at least a little bit) the surrounding area.
Also, the dog is not really being taught to stop barking, and the
effects may wear off once the dog gets used to the smell. Here is an
example of such a collar, ?Premier Gentle SprayŽ Citronella Anti-Bark
Collar:? http://stores.healthypetonline.com/Detail.bok?searchpath=a640278fae9367af0ca&category=Citronella+Collars&start=1&total=7&no=22

Best of luck!
