What can you tell me about Showtime's new series called American Candidate?

What is the best way to support American Candidate Chris Smith?

What are some of the issues he is higlighting?

This is optional, but helpful. Is there any truth to the rumor that a
consortium of necktie manufacturers and marketers of logo apparel have
formed a "Committee to Stop Smith" due to his resistance to wearing
neckties and logos? What are they afraid of? Are the Brooks Brothers
(Mel and Al) heading this opposition group? Is there a larger
movement of people exercising their freedom to not wear neckties?

I've found that Chris Smith has a candidate page at American Candidate:
http://www.americancandidate.com/candidate_homepage.php?id=728

I clicked the free "Support Me!" button.

He is highlighting:
Clean Energy Independence, to decrease dependence on foreign oil from
places like Iraq and the Middle East and to improve the environment.

Double the number of qualified teachers to improve education.

Balanced Budgets and Lower Taxes with a Progressive Flat Tax.

I also found his blog: http://votechrissmith.blogspot.com/

And this press release: http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2004/5/emw126020.htm

All that remains is the part of the question regarding the rumored
"Committe to Stop Smith." I can't find anything about that. Then
again, why would anyone want to stop him? Also, nothing yet on a
larger movement to not wear neckties.
Help with either of those points would still be useful.

Haven't we had enough John's and George's? Maybe it is time for a Chris!

I think Chris will do just great, as long as he doesn't hire Omarosa.
