Which mobile phones can be connected to a computer (either via data

I know some nokia phones have this ability using special AT codes, but
which ones and are there any non nokia mobiles which can do this?

I am only interested in mobiles which work in the UK, namely GSM
900/1800.

What I am really wanting is a list of nokia and (especially) non nokia
mobiles which have this facility. Wheter there is software available
to do so or not (eg logomanager) is not really important.

technical descriptions for GSM phones 900/1800.

In the UK on the GSM service of Vodafone you can make use of the
keyboard of your computer to sent messages via the SMS by using the
Logomanager software package. You will also need either a compatible
data cable that connects to the serial port of your PC or an infrared
connection to the PC.

I believe there are no GSM phones that can be used to do what you
want. I assume you want the received messages to be displayed on the
PC.
There are companies that have installed software and GSM hardware onto
a PC or Local Area Network (LAN), and converted the PC into a two-way
sms device.
