Would an XML definition of calendar events do, or are you looking for
a data structure that details what takes place at conferences and
lectures? What scope of data are you wanting to archive?

I have an events website http://magazines.fasfind.com/cbe and I wish
to publish it in a standard way. Ideally it would be something like
RSS for the events.
