Credit Unions, as we all know, have certain eligibility requirements in order to become a member. Most credit unions offer membership to anyone who is employed by a certain company (aka Select Employee Groups) or thru the area where someone live or work. I'm looking for several federal credit unions in the USA that is open to everyone (anywhere in the USA) simply by joining an association or an organization AT THE TIME of membership. I live in an area in Georgia that does not have a credit union. I'm also self-employed hence I'm not eligible thru "work". Good examples of what I'm looking for are the following: www.penfed.org (if you are not eligible, you can join 'National Military Family Association' and immediately become eligible for membership), another one is www.dcu.org (American Association of People with Disabilities), www.gtefcu.org (if you are not eligible you can join 'CU Savers Club'), www.lockheedfcu.org (if you are not eligible, you can join 'Achievers Club'). Hope the above information and samples help you in your research. Thanks! | |

You might try VyStar Credit Union 904 777 6000 They have ran ads that seem to be inviting anyone to join. They are large with a good reputation, and have USA Navy persons all over the world who bank with them. I called them on the telephone. You can join from Georgia if you have a relative (even distant relative) who is a VyStar member. VyStar 4949 Blanding Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32244. Neil |

Hello, try with patelco.org. they let anybody join from a list of 1100 companies and "others" that are not on the list.apply for their credit card and once you are approved you will be able to become member with no problems after: 1-opening a savings account with $5. 2-faxing them a copy of your paystub. Good Luck, SupporG |
