I am interested in attending either St. Matthews University or Sint Eustatius Medical Schools in the Caribbean. Neither of these two schools are currently licensed for the practice of medicine in California. However they are licensed in most other states. My question is 1. If I attend either of these universities can I gain RECIPROCITY (to practice medicine) in CALIFORNIA. Note: Pat Park of the MEDICAL BOARD OF CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF LICENSING was unclear when asked. The reason I am asking still is because many foreign students from foreign countries, for example from Pakistan are allowed to practice in California even though their medical schools have not been reviewed by the California Medical Board. i.e. they are not licensed for practice in California either. How do they get around this? 2. Is it possible to get a license in another state, then apply for a license in California. If possible, how long must one practice in another state, and what are the processes for applying for license in California? If question is answered sufficiently and in an expedited manner a tip will be added. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP. WHAT A GREAT SERVICE. |
