My girlfriend is vegan, I'm not. I'm looking for a list of restaurants
in San Francisco that have vegan options, especially for brunch.

What I'm NOT looking for: a list of vegan-only restaurants; I am
already quite familiar with the vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the
bay area.

An example of one possible restaurant would be one that has a tofu
scramble on its menu (such as the Pork Store Cafe).

These lists are good; I've found a couple of newplaces to take her.
What would be perfect would be more vegetarian/vegan-*friendly*
restaurants (she has extensive lists of vegan restaurants in the
area).

Here's another example: http://www.papalote-sf.com/menu.html They
have tofu burritos.

Ok, how about Indian Cuisine? Does this help shore up the list and
make it an answer?

This may also help you. You can adjust the search engine for any type
of cuisine (including vegetarian) and any time of feature (such as
brunch) as well as many other combinations of ambiance and services
within a specified area:

Another helpful list and a great thought, but most indian restaurants
use butter unless they advertise vegan options.

Here's some more instances of the type of thing I'm looking for: All
You Knead and the Squat and Gobble on Haight Street in SF both have
tofu scrambles as well as other dishes.

Thank you for the work so far; I realize that this is a tricky question.

Looks like you've done all the web can do. I think this list will do nicely.

Did you run across any San Francisco vegan/vegetarian message boards
or newsgroups in your search?

Good answer considering that most menus aren't searchable online. I
still haven't found a new brunch spot, but I have found new venues to
take her. http://daveola.com/Vegetarian/Restaurants/ is the best list
I've found online; I've contacted the maintainer of the list and he's
given me great help.
