What is the percentage of growth of Halloween as a retail holiday over
the past five years (1999 to 2004)? I'm looking for a percentage of
growth of sales surrounding Halloween products and/or promotions or a
dollar volume increase, such as "Halloween has grown from $X to $X
over the past five years." I need documentation of the source, plus a
web site or contact info for that source. |

Hello Mormar,
I found scattered data regarding the market size of the Halloween
products industry in various online articles from business journals,
news sites, greeting card companies and some associations.
All these figures can give you an idea of the growth of the Halloween
product industry in the last few years.

Bobbie7 - I don't see how to post an "answer," so I'll add more here.
That data should work. I can't use something that's only cited in an
online article without the article citing the source. So, for
instance, if the article says "Halloween has grown X percent over the
past five years" and doesn't list where the info came from, then I
can't use it. But if it does, then that will work.

Dear Mormar,
None of the articles say in what percentage Halloween has grown.
The articles do state the market size of the Halloweeen industry.
For example:
?In all, the Halloween market is expected to generate an estimated xx
billion in sales for 2001.?
These articles state their sources as:
- the Halloween Association (a now defunct Halloween industry trade
organization) and
- the National Retail Federation
From this information WE can estimate the growth of the HALLOWEEN INDUSTRY.
I have not located any articles that state the growth of total
Halloween product sales over the years.
Please let me know if any of this information will meet your needs.
