Question ID: 345702
I understand how to program the receiver once it is set up but I don't
know how to correctly set the receiver to the dish. Do I need a
special switch? Am I able to connect only the blackbird to this switch
and inturn to the dish. What ports of the switch need to be used to
ensure proper connection. Is their a diagram of the specifics?

Hi morningside,

What dish are you using? Is it Dish 500 from Dishnetwork?

Thanks,

Hi morningside,

I don't think you can use a Blackbird with your DishPro. Please see
the following links:

"Make sure you are not using any satellite that has a LNB with a built
in switch ( Like the newer Dish 500 from dishnetwork. It has a Single
Fat Dual LNB with a built in switch which can get both 110 and 119
from dishnetwork, all from one LNB) This satellite LNB will NOT work
with the blackbird receiver."

DishPros:

"Blackbird does not work with DISH 500 twin and quad LNB?s, nor does
it do DishPro, so it can?t just be substituted for a subscription
receiver."

Sorry for the bad news,
