I am selling www.icv.com - a 3 letter domain.
I am seeking potential buyers.
I anticipate that public companies should be approached first as they are;
a) Easy to search for
b) Are concerned about their public profile
c) Are large and hence more likely to have budget for buying a URL
The initial 'i' could also be valuable for companies with the initials
CV - so as to create an electronic/internet version of their
service/operation.
Secondly, abbreviations for 'INC' or 'Limited' in some languages may
start with V (this is a long shot!), so a company with the initials IC
would be appropriate.
Lastly, in chinese and other asian languages, the letter/sound 'V' is
much more popular than in English - this is worth investigating.
My question:
Can you please search through at least 20 stock markets (US, European,
Asian & South American) for companies with the initials ICV or CV (IC
if the sign for 'incorporated' starts with a V).

While I understand your strategy for searching for potential buyers,
it seems you might be better off conducting a search that looks for
related domain names.
For instance, the current owners of:
http://www.icvcapital.com
a multi-million dollar investment firm, might well be interested in
owning a three-letter domain name such as the one you have to offer.
If you'd like, I can answer your question by pointing you to a source
of more than 200 registered domain names that begin with the letters
"icv".

Thank you for your comment.
I broker is in dialogue with icvcapital and is following the route of
existing ICV domain owners.
I am therefore trying this as an alternative approach.
It would be great if you/someone could do a sweep through 20
international stock markets online looking for appropriately named
companies.

Hello again James,
Glad to hear that you're already making use of domain name information.
Here's another possibility, apart from the stock markets (which hasn't
turned out to be a very fruitful search, thus far).
Have a look at this link:
http://www.altavista.com/web/results?q=icv*&kgs=0&kls=0
As you can see, there are a lot of ICV companies and other groups
included in the search results.
A list like this has the advantage of including many groups such as
private companies or organizations that wouldn't be listed on stock
markets. On the other hand, it's harder to gauge the financial
stature of the organizations this way.

Thank you for your response.
The broker has been using this approach, looking for non-english
language searches and sending e-mails to them.
I have been aware of a number of companies using initials that do not
come up highly on search engines. Yet, these companies do appear to be
quite significant.
I am therefore keen to find companies that may have need for ICV (as
stated above) by simply reviewing the major (and not so major) stock
markets in the world.
I know it's tedious - that's why I'm not doing it! :-)
