Is there a source online to buy ready-made, high quality slip covers
(boxes) for limited edition books? I need an answer for this within a
day or two. A cursory search reveled nothing obvious, just slipcovers
made-to-order, in min quantity of 1000. We need 100, and we need them
soon.

Books come in many different sizes. What are the dimensions of your books?

Greetings, Robert!

Are you looking for book covers that are see-through or opaque? paper
or plastic? I presume since they're limited editions, you're looking
for archival-quality protectors. Any additional information you can
provide will help Researchers to assist you.

We are looking for "slipcover boxes": those nicely made,
open-on-one-end boxes that a lot of nice books come in; you can only
see the spine of the book when it is in the box. We are a (very) small
press that is publishing a book of poetry for the first time (we
specialize in facsimile reprints of rare books). We are doing, by
subscription, a signed-and-numbered, limited edition that we want to
present in the slipcovers; the regular edition will be dust-jacketd
normally.

Yes, they need to be archival, or at least of high quality. They will
be quality cardboard, possibly cloth-covered. The particular edition
is 9x6 inches and about half an inch thick, but we would hope to find
somewhere that offers a variety of sizes. The places that build them
to otrder, that we have found, require a minimum of 1,000 ordered and
do not stock finished slipcovers.
