I am looking for a copy of an Italian move called "Colpo di Sole." My
dad played a bit part in this movie almost forty years ago, and it
would mean a lot to him to be able to watch it.

I'm setting the price intentionally low. If your answer results in a
feasible way to get a copy of the movie, I will accept the charge. If
it results in me actually getting a copy of the movie, a substantial
tip (think around $50, depending on whether my dad is actually in the
final cut, and how much it costs to get a copy). I offer my word; I
know that's probably not worth much, but I offer it.

All that I know about the movie is from IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166134/maindetails

My dad offers several other details, possibly distorted by the 40
years passed since the shooting. He thinks that the assistant
director was Fabrizio Gianni (which is somewhat doubtful, Fabrizio
Gianni was the ass't director of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly only
a few years before this). As he remembers the plot, it was about two
couples who stumble upon a hippy camp located on a river called the
Yellow Submarien (also somewhat doubtful, descriptions from Italian
web sites have it seem episodic.. it's possible that my dad only knew
about his section of the movie.)

My dad played the King of the Hippies in the movie.

I again offer my word: if this movie is found, a significant tip will be paid.

Please help.

Just to make this clear: Payment (and tipping) will result only in
better information on how to acquire this film than already commented.
I am still unsure of how to acquire this movie.

I didn't find a copy, but apparently this film was shown on Italian
television twice within the last few months:
http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/recens.asp?Id=5805

Clicking on "Prenota il prossimo passaggio televisivo di COLPO DI
SOLE" will lead you to
http://www.mymovies.it/dizionario/Regmyshop.asp?IDFILM=5805&FORMATO=TV

where you can enter you e-mail address. You then will get informed
should this film will be broadcast again.

As you may know Rete 4 is also broadcast via satellite
http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Italy.html
http://www.lyngsat.com/hb2.html

Reception is possible outside Italy
http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/13ehb2-4_popd.html

However, due to copyright restrictions the satellite transmissions of
Rete 4 are encrypted now and then.

Thanks a ton fp. I'd been to that website, but foolishly assumed that
it had never been on TV. If no-one else comes up with a better
response, I'm more than happy to tip you if I can get my hands on it.

Cheers.

Just to add to FP's comment:

Unfortunately, it seems from a list I found, that the film was not
released in VHS (not to mention DVD...) mode. :
VideoGuida
<http://213.203.150.111/4DAction/WWW_ListaPeople/AGZLGA@@CHDPVAEKTZFT>
and then <http://213.203.150.111/4dAction/WWW_scheda/AMLCIDBCCBCPCS%5BQBMEE>

That means, that unless you'll find someone who recorded it from TV
(or would contact the TV station, or record it next time it is on), it
would be only on other formats - meant for broadcast or screening.
