My grandfather, William P. Welshonce, born about 1825, in Meyersdale,
Pa. died about
1874, married to Harriett Heckard, born about 1832. Theyhad six
children. However, she had a child, apparently her firstborn, who
was given the name Alexander Stutzman Welshonce, and a Major Alexander
Stutzman is reported to be the father of this child. Can anyone help
me out in understanding this point. Also, who might the father of
William P. Welshonce be, also know as W. P. W Sr. since one of his
and Harriet's sons was also named William P. W
