Hi ppgbanker!!

Your Toshiba Satellie Pro 4600 is fully compatible with Windows XP.

Windows 98 can be upgraded to XP Home or Professional and it is also
possible to uninstall XP later.
Note that you may have installed software that may be incompatible or
does not support Windows XP, or the version installed is so earlier
and need upgrades; in the case that you receive a report listing such
softwares during the installation of Windows XP please do not exit
Windows XP setup, only take note of the software's vendors and then
continue with the installation of Windows XP.
For example you may need to upgrade utilities like Norton Antivirus if
you have the Windows 9x version. Disk tools designed to work in MS-DOS
may not work with Windows XP. The suggestion here is to remove or
upgrade such applications before upgrading to Windows XP to ensure the
upgrade process is as trouble free as possible.
If you want to be sure about if you need updated drivers for your
hardware devices or need to upgrade or remove software use the Windows
update advisor.
"Windows XP Upgrade Advisor":
"The Upgrade Advisor is a tool that checks your system hardware and
software to see if it is ready for upgrade to Windows XP. If you run
Upgrade Advisor while you are connected to the Internet, and if your
system needs updates that are available on the Windows Update Web
site, Upgrade Advisor will find and install the updates for you."
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/advisor.asp?SD=GN&LN=en-gb&gssnb=1

Remember that your computer's hardware is XP fully compatible
according to Toshiba's claims.

I also suggest you to perform the upgrade with other running computer
connected to the Internet in order to see and use the following pages.
I think that this step is easy to take for you because you will
upgrade a portable computer.
You can use the following tool from Toshiba to perform the upgrade:
"Toshiba Upgrade Navigator for Windows XP":
This tool from Toshiba support will help you to upgrade your Toshiba
Sattelite Pro 4600 to Windows XP.

Now we can talk about the main subject on your question, the kinds of
problems you may anticipate and how to fix them when upgrade to
Windows XP.
The list of ALL the possible problems is very huge and I don't know

why I suggest you to work beside a running computer connected to the
