Hello All!

I've seen quite a bit about the best of Google Answers. The best
answered questions, and each researcher's favorite questions, etc.
And I love these types of questions because Google Answers is a great
resource with great answers. But there are also those times when
things aren't so nice and rosy. I'm talking about the times when the
answer has just gone bad. Whether it's a misunderstanding or the
customer was very vague or the dialog has broken down, etc. I.E. the
"one star" rated questions.

Now I understand from reading most of these questions that it is
rarely the fault of the researcher. This is just for fun. So nobody
is offended, can some researchers give at least one example of their
own experiences. The best story wins the prize and claims the money.

Bowler --

Researchers are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous,
kind, obedient, cheerful, et alia. As such they can't admit to doing
less than the utmost in the service of Google Answers.

Are you sure that you didn't mean the "wurst" of Google Answers?

Yep, this one was pretty much the fault of the researcher - me.

One of my earlier answers which indicated I can't even read a map.

I think the worst of the worst is when a researcher takes someone at
their word and provides much more than they orignally asked for
because they promised a huge tip - and it never materializes. (I guess
you could say I learned much more than the customer did on one):

Or when a very difficult question is solved with a great answer that
required lots of research and long distance phone calls (at my
expense), only to be rated 1-star accidentally or because someone
wasn't sure how to use the feature. This is a true bummer:

Thanks so far. Omnivorous I remember that Jackburton answer and it
was truly astounding. Tutuzdad, are you still waiting for the tip?
Also it seems the least the questioner in your second example could
have done was to open another question for you and give you 5 stars.
Thanks for the examples.

"Are you still waiting for the tip?"

Well, yes and no. I am mstill waiting in the sense that he/she never
honored his side of the bargain. Do I ever expect to see it? No.

"Also it seems the least the questioner in your second example could
have done was to open another question for you and give you 5 stars."

Mathematically an additional 5 star rating would not offset an
accidental 1 star rating, so that wouldn't work as a solution either.
The best thing is to just say "Oops!" and move on.
