I'm not sure, but methane = CH4 = natural gas is likely obtained from
at least a few wells in Israel. Propane and butane are likely too
costly for general use, so electricity is likey used for cooking in
some cities and villages. Producers gas is made from coke and steam,
but the carbon monoxide and a bunch of polutants make it unsuitable
for home use. Neil

Neil is completely off target.

I couldn't find the exact forumla or mixture (though it is probably
mostly cosists of Methane), and therefore could not post an answer.
However, gas ovens are very popular in Israel (in fact, in my time
there - I have rarely seen electricity used widely and solely). In
addition, there very little commercial production of gas in Israel,
and gas is in fact imported.

Better not to guess next time, but to rely on statistics.

Gas is indeed used here in Israel. and it is in LPG (Liquid Presurised
Gas) form which contais a mix of C3 and C4. Mercaptan is being added
to the gas to enable olafactory leakege detection.
alot of the houses use Baloons of various weight (6, 9, 12, 15 and 18
Kg) that are being deliverd to their homes while some use central
supply systems.
i don't have the exact mixture of the C3 and C4 but you can get the
refinery's specification for a sumer mix here:
http://www.orl.co.il/specs/l001.doc
and for a Winter mix here: http://www.orl.co.il/specs/l005.doc
