Hello - Need ASAP the name of the artist (think female) whose
paintings were reproduced in the Scorsese film "Age of Innocence".
Michelle Pfeiffer's (sp?) character, Madame Olenska has them in her
home (Daniel Day-Lewis looks at them) and because the paintings are
short but very very wide, there is a panning shot of at least one of
the works. It is years since I saw the film and then only once but I
THINK they were supposed to have been painted by Mdme Olenska (maybe
not though). These works have stuck with me and I need to know the
artist's name so I may look for reproductions. I know the name of the
New York company that copied the originals for use in the film - this
info is not required. I also know that Whistler and Tissot and other
artists' works were used in the set decoration for the movie - these
paintings though are rather different (one or two figures to the right
of the painting looking out over a long stretch of landscape i think).
Hope you can help - thank you

Please disregard my request for clarification. I found out that
Troubetzkoy Paintings is the company that made the reproductions for
the film.

I have increased the money available for this question as it is
urgent. Please let me know if this is still not enough - if you have
worked on this question and simply cannot find the answer, please let
me know anyway so I know it is a hopeless case! I am just concerned
people are not working on it because I am not offering enough money!

Kooth,

I, too, spent quite a bit of time researching this question, and I
failed to find an answer for you. I think your best bet is to contact
Troubetzkoy Paintings, as Bobbie has suggested above. If this results
in your obtaining the information you need, I'm sure Bobbie will be
happy to repost her suggestion as the official answer to your
question.

Thank you both for your kind suggestions. The point is now moot
really as I needed the info ASAP in order to buy a print for a
friend's birthday present and the birthday was on 23rd May.

However I am still keen to get the information regardless, as it is
bugging me enormously! If I get any joy from Troubetzkoy Paintings I
will post the question as "answered" so Bobbie7 can be rewarded for
her time

Thank you again

Kooth,

If things should go well as a result of Bobbie's suggestion, and you
want Bobbie to receive compensation, all you'll need to do is post a
clarification statement asking Bobbie to answer your question.
