I am giving a talk to professional investment managers on the topic of
"US Employment Data". I am looking for how the data is gathered,
analysed and then subsequently reported by the BLS. All the various
components will needed to be presented ie. Unemployment Rate, Non-Farm
Payroll, average hourly earnings, manufacturing payrolls and average
weekly hours.

This an intelligent group but I would like to keep the presentation as
simple yet informative as possible.

Thanks for the help.

Hi!

It seems that the BLS makes a series of surveys then extracts the data
from those surveys to find out about employment, unemployment, nonfarm
payrolls, etc. Would links to documents discussing such methodologies
be ok as an answer?

Thanks
