I really would love to buy a GREAT pedometer. I have had three and
find they that either "skip" (like today mine said 3033 and then later
said 642), are way too complicated, or way too big. I would like to
pay up to $50 and just get a great one - factors i care about are
accuracy and size. do you have any help you could give me on this?
are there any customer review sites for pedometer? I found the one I
ordered from pedometer.com (the first link that comes up on Google)
did not work and I'd love to see a site with customer feedback. Thank
you!

Hello Irga

I have been researching this subject for you and have come up with a
few sites with reviews that may be of interest.

As with buying all things it is easier for the purchaser to read a few
reviews and get an idea of which ones might interest you and then do
further research on those items.

The sites you will find most useful for your initial sweep of the
pedometer market are:

http://www.epinions.com/search/mem_search_~0/search_vertical_~2522265/no_skip_~1?search_string=pedometer
http://www.epinions.com/search/mem_search_~0/search_vertical_~2522488/no_skip_~1?search_string=pedometer
http://www.outdoorreview.com/Training/Pedometers/PLS_3016_912crx.aspx
http://www.georeviews.com/Household/Personal_Care/Health_Monitors/Pedometers/index.php

Useful reviews can also be found at http://www.amazon.com. I searched
for "pedometer", "step counter", "pedometer radio", "walking" and
these all yielded useful results.

I would be more than willing to help you find more reviews once you
have narrowed your search down using the sites above.

If you have any more questions or queries please click for a
clarification before rating this answer. I want to make sure you are
fully happy with the results I provide.

Whilst researching the pedometers I also came across this which may be
of some interest:

http://www.mcdonalds.com/usa/news/current/conpr_05062004.html
http://www.mcdonalds.com/usa/news/current/conpr_05142004.html

It appears that McDonalds are giving away a "stepometer" with their
Adult Happy Meals at their stores at the moment.

This might be an alternative whilst we try to work out which pedometer
is the best for you.

Please let me know which pedometers interest you and I will try to
find some more reviews at sites other than those I have indicated
(including the best place to buy the item).

Do yourself a favor and skip the McDonald's version. I've found mine
to under-report steps. How much? Well, in an average day it logs 1/6
as many as my Accusplit.

Check out the accusplit or digiwalker for best results.
