Dear Digs,
I posted what I thought was a very benign uncontroversial
and legitimate question that I needed an answer to as soon as
practicably possible and I see that someone in authority has taken it
completely out of context in
( well apparently at least) a ridiculous way and had it banished from
all listings of questions. I very simply need to know what process I
need to follow to ensure that my wife and I can travel to North
Carolina togther. I have an Australian passport and my wife an
Indonesian one. She wished to go fairly soon and will if we can borrow
the money for what will be a once only trip. It appears that because I
mentioned the M word that an obviously over-zealous if not paronoid
person in authority has determnined that I was aiming to highlight
some percieved( by me!) injustices to people of the islammic faith
when visiting The States This was not my intention at all, I just
really needed to know what process I needed to follow if in fact as I
suspect there may well be extra security checks or identification
papers or other document oriented procedures etc required before a
ticket could be purchased, as there is in Australia, thats all!!
As a pretty good and loyal customer I find the removal of my question
with no advice or reasoning to me at all almost offensive.
Anyway if you could assist then please do so or if it is something
you feel you would be risking your repuation with as a researcher then
please just advise and I will myself delete this "innapropriate"
propaganda-laced question and get the info another way.
Thanks Digs, ( original question listed below)

I will have no problem I suspect being Australia with Australian
passport, but what about wife who is Indonesian with Indonesian
passport. She is Catholic not M..... and dearly wants to travel to
North Carolina to see her brother to allow him to see his much loved
young niece. He is a permenent resident with work visa waiting on
citizenship I think. Will she encounter major problems or will it be a
trouble-free process assuming she has travelled widely before, has no
criminal convictions and has good job with multi-national company in
Indonesia.
Not looking for the definitive response to her particular case but
hoping someone knows the likely process she will have to go through
and possible barriers she will come across that need to be broken
down. |
