Question ID: 347443
my friends from phx are visiting for a few days this summer, and i
want to provide them lots of great things to remember southern
california with. i was hoping for recreational activites that aren't
too far away. places like monterey park, alhambra, san
gabriel, pasadena, and places that are sort of near there. i was
thinking of
things like the beach and stuff. i guess around that far. however, i'm
16, and i'm looking for things that are age appropriate, like for
teenagers..and hopefully
easy on a teenager's wallet as well.
i was hoping for locations, prices, and perhaps a link or some info on the place.

I don?t know how far is too far, but you can get Dodger tickets for as
low as $6. Dodger Stadium is about 8 or 9 miles from Monterey Park.

If you want to go a little further, and if your friends are not coming
for a couple of months, you can get tickets to The Tonight Show for
free:

NBC.com Tickets

?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno/Tickets
3000 W. Alameda Ave.
Burbank, CA 91523

Tickets to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno are available by U.S. mail.

To order, send a self-addressed stamped envelope with a brief letter
listing the desired date of taping and three alternate dates. You can
request up to four tickets, but seating is limited. Audience members
must be at least 16 years old. If tickets are available for the date
you request, they will be sent to you by return mail approximately 2-3
weeks prior to the show date. All mail requests are processed on a

weeks in advance.

Tickets for a specific show are available the day of the show only at
the NBC Ticket Box, located at NBC in Burbank, CA. The NBC Ticket Box

hey thanks a lot for the ideas googlenut! actually, further sounds
good. "california-y" activites would be nice, such as the beach or
something like that. the dodgers tickets idea is great though! anyone
know any secret hot/fun spots around, o i dunno..30 miles from mpk? as
long as it's worth the distance, i'd love to check it out. thanks!

Hello bryplusan-ga,

If you don?t mind the distance, then you should consider Venice Beach
and the Santa Monica Pier. They are very popular locations and are
often seen in movies and TV shows. They are about 25 miles from
Monterey Park.
