I am trying to identify a hymn tune. The only information I have is as follows: Composer: Johann Anastasius Freylinghausen (1670 - 1739) Incipit of tune: 354321232544323 I need to find the following: 1. Name of tune 2. Date of composition 3. First published source (title, author / editor, place and date of publication) For information, an incipit is a method of notating the first fifteen notes of any given piece of music. In the key of F, 1 = F, 2 = G, 3 = A, 4 = Bb, 5 = C, 6 = D, 7 = E. I have looked up the incipit in the Hymn Tune Index on the Internet, but have drawn a blank. As hymn tunes are identfied either by name or incipit, I am unable to go any further! |

Is it possible that the incipit is one number off? Could this link be part of what you are looking for? http://www.ccel.org/cceh/0010/x001072.htm |
