Maxwell Albert Heaslet was born in 1907. He was a mathematician at
Stanford. I am trying to find the year he died.

According to the Social Security Death Index, Max Heaslet was born
February 17, 1907, and he passed away in July 1976. The death
certificate was issued in California, where Stanford is located, so
between that and the matching birth year, I'd say that this is
definitely your guy.
