Question ID: 347878
I want to clear the cache on Internet and Windows Explorer. For Ex:
When I Type "a", "b", "c" into either explorer...the system produces
every file or site that I have searched or opened on this computer.
How can I clear the cache successfully? Using Tools and Clear History
on IE doesn't work....This only clears the URL. I have IE version 6
running on Windows 2000.

Hi brown1367,

*Clearing Search History in Windows 2000*

Whenever you perform a search in Windows 2000 (click Start, Search,
Files or Folders), Windows saves the search, and past searches show up
in the future. In order to clear this list, you can manually delete
the saved searches from the Registry. Simply navigate to the following
location in the Registry and follow the procedure below.

Run > regedit
Navigate to the registry subkey called:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer
Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\FilesNamedMRU
Delete any or all entries beginning with 000.

Don't delete the (Default) entry. As always, use caution and frequent
backups when editing the Registry.

You can clear the Internet Explorer search history of previous
searches by following the procedure below:

"In Internet Explorer 5 or higher, select "Tools" from the menu, then
"Internet Options" and then choose the "Content" tab. Next, look for
the button at the bottom that says "AutoComplete." Click on the button
which will make the AutoComplete Settings window appear. In it, click
on the "Clear Forms" button to delete all your stored form entries."

"If you are a Google Toolbar user, the techniques above won't work to
remove your past searches from the toolbar. Instead, you'll need to
click on the Google logo next to the Google Toolbar's search box, then
choose "Clear Search History" from the drop-down box that appears."

You're close. The first way is to go up to tools, hit "delete files"
then check. Another way it to go to "my comnputer", right click on the
icon. Select "properties" and hit the disk cleanup tag.

If this works give the researcher "pinkfrued" the credit so he gets
the 2 bucks. McIsencraft
