Can I add a PCMCIA slot to my laptop? It only has one PCMCIA slot and I need two slots. I have not been able to find a product that will expand my one slot into two. I am looking for a PCMCIA card that splits into two. |

tkfresh... From what I've read, I gather that each slot requires its own PCMCIA controller, so a PCMCIA 'hub' or splitter isn't an option. But maybe I'm mistaken, and another researcher knows something different. |

You can purchase an external (parallel port, USB port, etc.) PCMCIA card reader that will work on both desktops and laptops. These are available through ebay sellers, or you can search on google for "External PCMCIA card readers" to find other manufacturers. Many of these models only give one PCMCIA slot, but this would be in addition to your original slot. In the rare case that you would need both slots next to one another (for PCMCIA type III cards), some devices of this nature are available at this website http://www.synchrotech.com/products/card-rw_15.html Hope this helps |
