The 2004 tax brackets have changed - no longer 15%, 27%, etc.  What
are the new tax brackets and the maximum dollars that can be earned to
stay within each bracket?  Also, if this can be included in this
question, what is the maximum dollars that can be earned to stay
within each bracket for: Married filing JOINT versus married filing
SEPARATE?

The tax brackets (also known as tax rate schedules) for 2004 are:

Single Person: 

$0 - $7150          --------- 10%
$7150 ? $29,050     --------- 15%
$29,050 - $70350    --------- 25%
$70,350 - $146,750  --------- 28%
$146,750 - $319,100 --------- 33%
$319,100+           --------- 35%


Married Person (filing jointly):

$0 - $14,300        --------- 10%
$14,300 - $58,100   --------- 15%
$58,100 - $117,250  --------- 25%
$117,250 - $178,650 --------- 28%
$178,650 - $319,100 --------- 33%
$319,100+           --------- 35%


Married Person (filing separately):

$0  -  $7,150      --------- 10%
$7,150 - $29,050   --------- 15%
$29,050 - $58,625  --------- 25%
$58,625 - $89,325  --------- 28%
$89,325 - $159,550 --------- 33%
$159,550+          --------- 35%
