Using the view details option in windows 98 windows explorer, results
in all the files disappearing from the right hand column. I can see
the files in all other views (list, small icons, large icons) but not
in details view.

This just happended recently after a number of years of proper use and no problems.

Hi nhendric,

I'm not certain this will solve your problem but you might like to try
the following suggestion:

Using the scroll bar at the bottom of the window, slide it all the way
to the right. Are the details showing now? If so, at the top of the
window, where it says name, size, type, etc..., put your mouse in
between each and drag to gather them close together.

Please let me know if this works.

Regards,
Rainbow

there is no scroll bar at the bottom nor is name, size, type available.

to clarify further, there is no scroll on the right hand side (the
side the results disappear on), there is a scroll on the left but that
doesn't have a connection to the area I am having trouble with.
