I am asking you this question regarding cosmetic lip enhancement injections using silicone. So I can hopefully, suprise my fiance with what she really wants for her 30th birthday. Bigger lips! I have researched this topic rather extensively; and seemed to have hit a plateau with my research. My question to you is this: Where in your opinion, is the best place to purchase quality product(lip silicone)? Canada and/or Mexico? Also I'll need some contact info, for the companies that provide a quality product for a reasonable market price. |

I've been debating whether or not I should post this. Forgive me if it seems rude, but people read this stuff and some of them have trouble putting it into context. The best place to do lip enhancement is at a qualified plastic surgeons office, they'll have all the supplies. Most likely gortex instead of silicone. I think the last thing your fiance wants for her 30'th birthday is a serious infection. |

More often than not, the majority of doctors I have come across feel the need to remind me of just how smart they are. And in doing so, they come across as condescending and arrogant... If you go back and read my question. You will see clearly how I never had asked about safety issues, nor gortex or any other alternative to silicone. Furthermore, I did not ask for anyones opinion as to whether or not my fiance could possibly get an infection. Just for the record, I have a good friend who is a plastic surgeon. He does not perform this procedure himself, anymore. He has the nurses under him handling this simple procedure. My aunt happens to be a anesthesiologist for a group of plastic surgeons who all have practices up in the city NY. So, my point being is this... I have resources that I could utilize if I needed to. I just don't like asking a bunch of questions, that I can get the answer to, myself. I simply wanted some very specific information on a very specific subject. And I just didn't feel the need to burden my friend, or my aunt with such a question. They are busy people themselves. And I'm sure they have enough people who are always claiming to be their "friends", that just never know when to stop with all the questions. I have more consideration than that. So, I decided to do my own do diligence. I would rather just pay for the info that I was seeking. That's all... Plain and simple! I was just trying to save some money; not myself. If that's all I had wanted, I could've got Dr.Phil for free! Maybe the doctor should listen less; but hear more... And remember, you get paid to answer these questions. So, why not lose the attitude? And start answering some questions the way you would want them to be answered to you; as if it were your question! Sincerely, Annoyed |

As I said, the idea what to put your question into context. Now that we've done that, and you've told me that you know plastic surgeons and stuff. As such, you should know that injectable silicone for cosmetic purpose has been banned in the US since the mid 90's. For the practice you have described it is it is currently undergoing clinical trials to make a recurrence, and some doctors may supply it off label, at risk to patients and themselves. As such, one only needs to know the appropriate brand names. The fact that you're annoyed, can't talk to your doctor friends, asked for injectable silicone(and not lip enhancement fillers in general), and seem to be intent on performing your own work at great liability to someone else is simply indicative that my comment was valid. But since you're bent on getting this information, I'll take the "first do no harm approach" because I'd hate to see someone go out armed with little knowledge. There is enough information on this page for you to figure out where is a good place to go. http://www.yestheyrefake.net/injectable_fillers_micro_implants.htm I'm not getting paid for this, so you got what you paid for. I hope your girlfriend gets her money's worth too. Good luck. |

Hello cheetah9937-ga, Just so you know, dr_bob-ga is NOT a Google Answers Researcher. You can distinguish those that are from those that are not by the appearance of the name--Google Answers Researchers' names are hyperlinked. Regards, Boquinha-ga |
