I have a very specific question. I am a graduate student and I will be completing a summer internship in Trinidad and Tobago in the field of youth reproductive health services. I will be working with the local Plannes Parenthood affiliate and they cannot afford to pay me. I have already secured a grant for half of my estimated budget ($2,000) and I need to find an organization, charitable group that would provide the remainder without a lengthy application process. Preferably it would be a place that provides small grants to needy students. I am female, Caribbean American and my field is Public Health. Also HIV is a very serious problem among this youth population. To be clear I only want the names of organizations that would be willing to give me money by May 30th which is when I would leave for my assignment. Thanks |

Hello crazylove-ga, It's creative of you to seek help from Google Answers but I think the chances are fairly remote that any grant giving organization will be able to act on your application in less than two weeks. If they have money to give, they've probably already allocated it to people who met their various rules and application guidelines. Your best bet will be to try to find an angel -- an individual or organization that can hear your story and act on it quickly without having to adhere to policties and procedures. Good luck. ~ czh ~ |

I have know the U.S peace corp. sendingg volunteers to varies countries to do work In a number of socio-related areas . You could try them or try CARICOM- Carribvean Community They should be happy to help you. Another group that is always willing to help is the Catholich Church . They have been a great help in Jamaica especially where family planning and other health or social issues are concern |
