I am running windows 2003 server. The problem i am having is that from
the server, if i go to network neighborhood all the computers are not
shown. Also, if i go to a client machine which is connected to the
domain, and go to network neighborhood, it shows every computer in the
domain except the server. It is like the server is set to be blind
from the rest of the world. There is no problems with the
communication lines between the server and the clients cause i can
perform ping commands and run login scripts from the server to the
client machines. I want to know how to make it so the server can go to
network neighborhood and see all the computers in the domain, and also
be able to do the same from workstation machines.

This may seem like an elementry question, but have you joined the
computer to the domain?

I am making the assumption here that the 2003 server in question is
not the domain controller. Two things spring immediately to mind.
The first is that the computer has not been put onto the domain. The
second is that the networking on the 2003 server has not been set up
with nameserver/wins information. For example, "ping 192.168.0.1" may
work but "ping www.mydomain" does not.

I have set up all the workstations to the domain. i am pretty sure
that the server is set up as the domain controller using active
directory. I dont know what wins is or how it relates to how this
would affect computers seeing each other in network neighborhood but
will look into it.

If physical connectivity is there between clients and server and if
you can clearly verify it with PING etc..Try this one. Basically to
see computers in Network Neighbourhood windows machines need to have
NETBIOS ..pls install it on server and try again. Best of Luck!!
