Silly little question. Long ago I deleted the request for username and
password when the computer first starts. I remember that if I put in
information it will always ask & somehow I stopped the entire process.
How did I do that?

captdave...

There are a couple of ways you could have done this,
and it will also depend on which Windows operating
system you are using.

You may have used a registry tweak as noted in the
WinGuides articles below, for:

Windows 95, 98 and Me
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/125/

Windows NT, 2000 and XP
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/13/

There's also this article on Microsoft about temporarily
bypassing the Windows Automatic Logon:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;114615

Or, you may have used TweakUI, one of the Microsoft
Power Toys for Windows, to automatically enter your
username/password or username/no password. You can
find this program for the version of Windows you're
using by browsing through these Google search
results for TweakUI:

If you used TweakUI, you'll find the settings by going
to Start -> Settings, Control Panel -> TweakUI, and
selecting the Logon tab.
