EPOS may stand for Electronic Point of Sale systems, which in this
case is proably a credit card swipe machine. The ID is most certainly
a vendor ID, which would link back to a company.

If your bank can not tell you who the vendor is, and you have not
authorized the charge, you can contest it. However, make sure you
verify that you did not sign up for or authorize any recurring
memberships or fees.

Hope this helps soemwhat.

Yes, I just noticed monthly debits to my checking account by
EPOSPYMNTS and also noticed the amounts differed each month, so I knew
it wasn't a set recurring monthly fee for some unknown service. Turns
out it was automatic debits to pay the monthly minumim due on a Visa
card I have from Chase Manhattan, which I authorized.

Thank you, Ital-ga. I don't remember authorizing automatic
deductions, but I do have an account with Chase. You were a big help.
