A coworker and I are in charge of selecting an offsite for our team at
work. Can you provide some non-region-specific ideas?

Can you tell me more about the purpose of the offsite? Teambuilding?
Problem-solving? Getting acquainted? Reward for performance? What
department/job function are the participants? Marketing? Engineers?
Administrative? What do you hope will be the chief benefit/outcome of
the offsite?

Probably the best such gathering I've been involved in was
so popular that we did it again the next year. The team
decided on it to start with. It was a a day at a luxury
resort. We rented a suite or a condo for an off-season
rate which gave us access to a pool with a swim-up bar,
a huge community pool, an engineered inner-tube float,
several options for an excellent lunch, and, of course,
the privacy of our suite, which included a grill in the
