Could you explain for us what you mean by "taking on a life of it's
own"? The more details you can provide us about your idea, the better
we will be able to anaylize it.

taking on a life of its' own, the internet today has evolved where
people must look up to the internet and to the point where their lifes
depend on it.

IE: online banking, role models, auctions, bussiness, peer2peer's..., the disabled

kill a resource kill many, like severing/cutting a connection, but is
it possible that - lets' say a more advance technology came online
that attached its self mainly to the internet with superior control of
end-less resources. Wouldn't it look at us like a virus, and try to
harm us since we're so few and the net is of the many

Hello Jorge,

I'm not sure how to approach an answer to your question, but in the
mean time, you might want to have a look at this article by former
head of Sun Microsystems, Bill Joy:

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/8.04/joy_pr.html

Why the future doesn't need us.
Our most powerful 21st-century technologies - robotics, genetic
engineering, and nanotech - are threatening to make humans an
endangered species.

He seems to share your concern about the dangers of technological
advancement, even if his focus is on other technologies at the moment.

I'll be thinking over your question, meanwhile.

No. The survival of humanity depends on the Divine. The Divine is to
humanity as humanity is to the internet. It is the internet that
depends on humanity to survive; not the other way around.

net is developing everyday, the more users connect the more they pay to
ISPs the more channels they build ,and they become just better .About
15 years ago the average connection speed was ~200-300 bytes (or
bits?)/sec.Where u can find such a speed today?
