Robert Whitford published a music course in Fla.He has since gone out
of business...I can no longer find ANY of his music and thought
perhaps another publishing co. had taken over. Could someone help me
find his complete music course? The publication date on the small
amount of music I have is 1959.I attended a workshop on June
16,1959....Thanks

Did Robert Whitford specialize in one type of music or a particular
kind of instrument?

I had hoped to find more, but perhaps another researcher can use what
I found.

This page lists 3 music scores by Whitford.
http://pages.prodigy.net/ralph_aulenta/lbmscore.htm

Whitford: In a Pensive Mood 1 Whitford Robert Whitford
Publications
Whitford: Morning Mood 1 Whitford Robert Whitford
Publications
Whitford: Rhapsody in Rhythm 1 Whitford Robert Whitford
Publications

These song titles seem to drift off into long spirals with no clear
trace of a music class being mentioned. The music seems to be
Swing/Big Band.

As this reference will expire in about 15 hours, and it's only a
partial set, I'm going to quickly post this as a comment, without
having you wait for a fuller answer -

I've found a partial set of the course books I think you may be
looking for - Ebay has a current listing which is selling piano
instruction books, and the listing includes "Robert Whitford Classical
Method Book One, Numbers 3,4,5, and 6."
Here's the direct item URL at Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=889436652

The auction ends at Jun-30-02 11:25:41 PDT - not much time, I know!

I'll keep looking for you, as well.

Oh my gosh, YES! I know Dorthea Whitford. She taught my daughter piano
and lives right down the street from me. She is now about 87 years
old. Robert died many years ago. I have helped her sort through her
teaching books. She has thousands of them. Please give me your name
and phone number and I will have her call you. She is a doll.
