MapQuest says five (

).

But Yahoo! Maps ( http://maps.yahoo.com/mapsch?ed=M7tNO.p_0TqT&csz=canby&country=us
), as confirmed by PlacesNamed.com (
http://maps.yahoo.com/mapsch?ed=M7tNO.p_0TqT&csz=canby&country=us ),
appears to have the correct answer: six.  There's a Canby in
California, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington.
