Did women ever have facial hair like men? Why do female dogs and cats
still have whiskers, and we human women don't?
Well, some gals do, but they better get out the tweezers and wax!

As I am writing this, I am watching a dog show from England. Crufts, I
think; it is now commercial time.
Thanks,
yesmam

I think comparing a female human to a female dog is like conparing a
female butterfly to a female plant. It's just not the same thing. I
would think though that the dog (of any gender) has retained this
feature as an element of its predatory nature, in much the same way
that it still has a tail - and "most" human women I know do not;
though there may be a few exceptions in other peoples' experiences :)

Isn't there some kind of growth that some people have at the bottom of
their spine that is a vestigial tail?

Keep thinking tutuzdad. What is Tutu up to?

Best,

Hi yesmam....

I'm not to sure about dogs, but I read somewhere that a cat's whiskers have
something to do with balance and senses...therefore both male and female cats
have to have whiskers.

Just my 2 cents

Facial hair is a matter of hormones, and the level of testosterone
(but other also hormones) sets also the growth of hair.

The "bearded woman" could be have some sort of hormonal problem that
causes the growth of facial hair. Women with less facial hair might
have still and excess of male hormones.

Of course, this could be the indirect result of a disease, or the
result of skin problem, saving of the face, etc.

"What is Tutu up to?"

Thank you for asking. She just graduated Kindergarten on Friday - and
with honors no less!

We are delighted, of course.
