During family history research,I've come across the name "BONDAREA".A
relative thinks it is linked to a home for children(similar to
Barnardo's).She recalled Bucknall in Stoke-on-Trent,but possibly
Staffordshire. Not 100% sure on the spelling. This possibly dates back
100 years or so.Any help please?

Dear oatcakeman,

Would the sound of one of these place names resemble what you have in mind?
- Bond End
- Bonehill
- Boney Hay

Also, if you could give me the name of the person who lived in that
place then and the approximate year, I may be able to do some
research, though I can't promise that data is available.

Regards,
Scriptor

Further info for you, possibly may be BOUNDARY,this from a distant
relative in Canada! She also mentioned CHEADLE in Staffordshire. She
still believes there is a connection with an "institution".I believe
BOUNDARY maybe an area in Stoke on Trent,Staffordshire.CHEADLE is not
too far away. That's really all I have for you,any help
appreciated,thank you.

Another update for you,the person's name is James Thorley born 1830 so
the time in question would be his formative years 1830 to 1840? A long
time ago I know.

I tried to find Blondare thru various web sites but had no luck,so I
assumed it was an error in reading the transcript.I still feel a
connection with Boundary may be important, other than that I have no
more info.Thanks for your efforts.

According to the 1881 British Census James Thorley living in Staffordshire
was born in Blondare, Ireland in the year 1831.

Could Blondare be the place your are looking for?
However, I can't find this place called Blondare. I don't suppose it's Glanmire:

James Thorley, mentioned in my previous comment, was born approx. 1830 or 1831.

According to the 1891 British Census James Thorley living in Staffordshire
was born in Boundary, Staffordshire.

It's fairly easy to locate "Boundary":

"Enter the Place Name and click on the 'Search' button":
http://www.abcounties.co.uk/newgaz/b.htm

Then copy the "Grid Ref" for Boundary, Staffordshire: SJ9842

Enter "SJ9842", select "OS grid (x,y)" and click on "search":
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/

Zooming in or out you'll find Boundary in Staffordshire:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=398500&y=342500&z=3&sv=398500,342500&st=4&dn=714

Apparently, the birthplace as mentioned in the transcription of the
1881 census is not correct.

The returns of the 1871 British Census as available on
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/
do not yet include Staffordshire.

Sorry, it's the Landranger grid, not the OS grid:
