Was there ever a W. O. Washburn who played in Bix Beiderbecke's band?

piersplowman --

Do you know what instrument W.O. played? Do you know if he had a
nickname? Do you know what other band(s) he might have played with?
I ask because there is a little-know Washburn (who went by a nickname)
who played for a while in a small group with a musician who moved on
from there to play with Beiderecke in the Jean Goldkette orchestra.

Turnover among jazz bands in the 20s was constant, and it is certainly
possible that this Washburn shared the stage with Beiderbecke at one
time or another. However, I have found no information online as to
what happened to Washburn, and I suspect that specialized print
sources would have to be consulted for any such information that
exists. Before I (or another researcher) take that on, it would be
useful to have any other information you might be able to provide.
