I'm looking for the name of an album I listen to a lot when I was a
child (1970's) that had a "peanut butter & jelly" song on it. Specifically: I'd
LOVE to have the lyrics to the "peanut butter & jelly" song.

I beleive it might have been on a christian album, but not all the
songs on it were religious-based. I only remember some of the lyrics
to the song. It went something like this: "Peanut butter and jelly,
that's what I like in my belly. Peanut butter and jelly, share it with
Norma and Kelly." Another part of the song went: "Tons of it (tons of
it). Gobs of it (gobs of it). Trucks of it (trucks of it). Towns of it
(towns of it). One of my favorite vice, put it in neon lights. P, B, &
J!"

Hi,

There's a fellow named Joe Wise who did some religious-themed folk
albums for kids in the 1970s. One of his songs is called "The Epic of
Peanut Butter and Jelly."

It's still available on a CD/cassette called "The Best of Joe
Wise...Music for kids."

I don't have the lyrics or anything else, but do any of Joe Wise's
other song titles sound familiar?

Hello.

I'm glad to hear that "The Epic of Peanut Butter and Jelly" was the right song.

As mentioned above, the song is currently available on "The Best of
Joe Wise...Music for kids."
http://www.giamusic.com/scstore/P-Wise-Misc.html

I've subsequently determined that the song originally appeared on Joe
Wise's album "Show Me Your Smile" (1976).

From a hymn directory:
Song: PEANUT BUTTER and JELLY
Composer: JOE WISE
Album: SHOW ME YOUR SMILE

The "Show Me Your Smile" LP seems to be rather rare. It's listed (but
not in stock) on this page:
http://www.sweet-music.com/nostock6.html

However, there is a book of lyrics for "Show Me Your Smile" available
for $6 on eBay:

-------------
search strategy:
"peanut butter and jelly" song "for kids"
"joe wise" "peanut butter and jelly"
"show me your smile" joe wise

Thanks!
