Hello, Search engines use a process called crawling to gather websites. This means that they send a crawler (or "spider") over the Internet following links. When you set up your hosting account and your website, you do not get automatically added to Google. If you want Google to add your site to its index, then you need to ensure that there is a page already in Google's index that links to you. That way, next time Googlebot (their crawler) crawls the web, it'll follow the link to your site. Another way to get in, is to add your website using the form at: ://www.google.com/addurl.html Google also suggest (at ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#B2 ) that you submit your website to Yahoo! or the Open Directory. For information on submitting to Yahoo, see the following URL: http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/ For the Open Directory (Dmoz) visit http://dmoz.org and navigate to the category your website best fits into. Once you've found it, press the Add URL link at the top of the page and follow the instructions. Usually, Google takes around 2 months to add your website to its index. Remember - if Google are just starting a crawl of the web then it may be a while before your site is found! Remember - not everyone uses Google. Use submission tools such as JimTools ( http://www.jimtools.com ) to get into lots of search engines. I hope this helps and good luck! Technonotice |

>>> When can i just enter any key words like pedals , etc I think the best bet for you is to use the google adwords feature at adwords.google.com. I think they charge you $15 per 1000 views for your web site. I think google has a 6 month lag time. This is what I noticed when I brought my site up. YMMV. Cheers Suresh |

Hello, There is no fixed criteria for the time period in which any website is listed in Google. The best general way to have your site listed at Google is to enter the details of your website at the following URL : ://www.google.com/addurl Doing this will allow the Google Search Bots to analyse your site and if they find it suitable or worth, it is listed automatically. However, this procedure does not guarantee the listing of your site. Another way to have your site listed on Google is by paying them for listing your site but I dont think that paying such an amount ( I don't know the actual amount, but its a bit expensive ). This will, however, gurantee the listing of your site. Yet another way to get your site submitted is to submit your site in an appropriate catagory at this URL: http://www.dmoz.org It is a free open directory listing and all URL's listed here are automaticall replected at Google within a few weeks (two to three). One more thing which I would like to tell you in this respect is that your website is not technicall upto the mark to be listed on any search engine for the simple reason that it has no META TAGS for the purpose. A good website is one which contains a lot of appropriate meta tags which help search robots to identify them and have them listed on the various search engines. So if you have some good and appropraite meta tags added to your website then I can gurantee the listing of your site on all possible good search engines. This is also the answer to your query about entering keywords. The keywords entered in the META KEYWORD tag are responsible to invoke search engines to reflect your site when any one enters the keywords mentioned in your tags. If you have any more queries then feel free to consult me. Warm Regards, VIT (Vivek Toshniwal) |
