I have Windows ME. The only thing I have done is renewed my
subscription to Norton anti-Virus Definitions through Live-Update.

2orchids...

You didn't say whether you have Copernic installed,
as mentioned in the comment by ash_in_housewares-ga.

While Copernic is one possible cause for this error
message, I have reason to believe there is something
else going on. If you can confirm that you don't
have Copernic, I can offer suggestions as to the
other likely cause.

This is caused by the way Copernic Agent was installed. There is a
point where the installation program asks if you want the program
integrated with Internet Explorer and/or Windows. If you choose to NOT
select both of these options the error occurs.

The installation program fails to indicate that one or the other,
or both, MUST be selected for proper operation

    Solution:

Re-install Copernic Agent and this time select the option to
"Integrate with Internet Explorer".
You can download Copernic Agent here:

http://www.copernic.com/en/products/agent/download.html

Also, it may be a good idea to clean up the spyware on your system.
Download: 'hijack this', it's a good program.
Also, it might be a good idea to clean up any non-essential startup
items in msconfig
START/RUN/type 'MSCONFIG' then press enter/click on the startup
tab/and UNCHECK everything you don't need to start up when you reboot
your computer.
Important: Make sure you know what you're unchecking.

Dear 2Orchids,

You will find your answer at the following link...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;189655

It appears that your Live Update Renewal did not install smoothly? I
would suggest that you contact Symantec by clicking on the URL listed
below for help with this issue. The Link has a subscription
troubleshooter that could help you solve this issue. Unfortunately it
does not appear that Symantec provides free phone support, but does
offer a fee based technical support option @ 29.95 per incident. I
believe that you will find their free internet support tools easy to
use and helpful. I believe the online support tools will be able to
resolve your windows error message? The Microsoft Knowledgebase
Article provides a resolution for this error, but I would have to
recommend that you follow Symantec's suggestions first as it appears
that the Windows error message is directly related to Symantec's
online renewal utility and its compatibility with Windows ME.

Please let me know if you need further clarification on this reply.

Sincerely ..... HardDrive
