Alexa has an article about some of these sites:

http://pages.alexa.com/features/orkutetc.html

You could do a Traffic Report on them (like this:)

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=http://www.friendster.com

and estimate user numbers based on Page Views per user and Reach per million users.
