I'm looking for the burial site of my best friends mother. Her mother
died when she was little and doesn't talk about it much but has
mentioned she would like to know where she's buried. I'm not sure if
you can do this but to locate the gravesite of Cheryl Zenkner,
cemetery or plot number. any information would be greatly appreciated.
all i know is that they used to live in St. Charles, IL so it might be
there, sorry i couldn't be more help. -Joe Schaefer

There are a number of Zenkner's living in Illinois, including one who
lives in St. Charles.

We are not permitted to post personal contact information here at
Google Answers, but with a bit of searching in telephone directories,
you should be able to locate some of the Zenkner's, who may well be
relatives of -- and have some information about -- the resting place
of Cheryl Zenkner.

Let us know if this helps.

Joe --

A search of logical sources for Carole Zenkner turns up nothing.
However, I do have some suggestions at the end for further research.

Rootsweb has a Tombstone Transcription project that lists cemeteries
by county. Volunteers have transcribed names and birth/death dates
from many of them. The quality and completeness varies highly but
Kane County has 7 of the dozens of county cemeteries listed:
Tombstone Transcription Project
Kane County (IL)
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/illinois/kane.htm

A search for "Zenkner" on the entire Rootsweb site turns up nothing
related to Carole.

Illinois DOES NOT consider death certificates to be public records, as
noted on this page:
Illinois Department of Public Health
"How to Obtain a Certified Copy of an Illinois Death Record"
http://www.idph.state.il.us/vital/forms/deathhow.htm

Nonetheless, you might try the county clerk for Kane County.
Other options would include:
* contacting the reference desk of the Kane County or St. Charles
library. They may have local newspapers indexed. It would be
especially helpful if you know a range of dates for the death.
* checking to see if there's a full-text search available online for
the larger area newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune. Be aware
that most newspapers have Internet text search only back to about
1995. Some larger newspapers have indexes back to 1970 or 1980.

Google search strategy:
Rootsweb site search
Illinois + "vital statistics"
